The Securities Commission of Zimbabwe is a statutory body established in terms of the Securities Act (Chapter24:25). Its main mandate is the protection of investors in the capital markets, through effective regulation of the players that include exchanges, securities dealers and firms, investment advisors, transfer secretaries and custodians.
Currently, one piece of subsidiary legislation exists to effect the proper implementation of the Act, being the Securities (Registration, Licensing and Corporate Governance) Rules, S.I.100/2010. In an endeavor to enhance capital markets regulation the Commission received technical support from the World Bank arm First Initiative, to put together a raft of securities rules. The drafts that are in place now need to adopt and conform to the drafting style and format consistent with other subordinate Zimbabwean legislation, while adhering to best practice. Interested legal practitioners/ firms are invited to express their interest in undertaking this nationally crucial project. Only suitably qualified legal experts with demonstrable experience in drafting legislation will be considered. The eligibility criterion includes; Specific professional experience
